This buncheong style malcha bowl is made by hand by a ceramicist in Korea, using dumbeong ('dipping') technique. The bowl is dipped in white mixture of clay with the bottom uncovered, showing the grey clay at the bottom.

The shape of this bowl is half-cylindrical and the bottom of the inside has subtle ripples, which allows you to create foam easily when whisking malcha.

As each piece is individually made and dipped, the shapes and pattern of the clay is not uniform. There may be tea stain over white clay, creating your own unique tea bowl over time.
