This large raised plate is made by ceramicist Doohyun Hongof ceramic studio Banwolyo in Cheongdo, Korea. He uses dumbeong ('dipping') glazing technique, which was invented some 400 years ago in Korea.

The design of this raised plate was inspired by the shape of dishes used for ritual ceremonies. The base is raised to be distinguished from other dishes to 'receive' luck.

The plate is perfect for placing your teapot, fruits or flowers.
