How to Cold Brew

Cold brewing is a great way to brew your tea in the summer - no hot water involved, easy brewing and storage, also. We recommend using Full Sparrow green tea, Black & Yuza tea and Green & Roasted Rice tea for cold brew. Green tea especially is great for hot weather, as it has a cooling effect on your body and reduces your body heat.

Method:

Place 5g of tea of your choice (you can go a little lighter, if the weather is very warm) in a cold brew bottle with filter and fill the bottle with cold filtered water.

Steep it for 3-24 hours in the fridge, or for an hour in room temperature for a faster brew and keep in the fridge for up to 48 hours. Cold-brewing draws fewer tannins into the tea compared to hot-brewing. Tannins are a type of polyphenol, an antioxidant compound in tea leaves that imparts an astringent taste to the tea. Fewer tannins result in a smoother, sweeter tea.
